CommBank proud platinum partner of UN Women National Committee Australia

At CommBank, we are committed to addressing gender inequality as part of our broader diversity and inclusion strategy. It’s an integral part of our culture, values and the way we do business.

We value, respect and leverage the unique contributions of people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, to provide exceptional customer service to an equally diverse community. Women comprise nearly 60 per cent of our workforce and we have a business and moral imperative to build an inclusive culture.

In 2015, we were awarded the Workplace Gender Equality Agency Employer of Choice for Gender Equality for the second year in a row. We also recently made a further commitment to women in senior leadership roles by announcing 40 per cent for women in Executive Manager and above position by 2020, as well as 30 per cent target for women on our Board by 2018.

Our gender targets sit alongside a range of initiatives to recruit, retain and develop women in leadership roles across the Group. These include mentoring, career resiliency and development opportunities, as well as parental leave support, flexible option for all our employees. We have also increased our focus on addressing domestic violence as a workplace issue by providing domestic and family violence training for relevant employees, alongside a number of other support services.

CommBank supports women in various communities across Australia through initiatives such as Community Grants, Commonwealth Bank Foundation, Teaching Awards, Skilled Volunteering, and Indigenous banking and programs. CommBank also creates opportunity for women in business across Australia through the Women in Focus community.
