MBA Scholarships advance women’s rights and equal opportunities

UN Women Australia advances UN Women’s agenda by raising awareness of the importance of gender equality in all facets of life – education, families, sport, politics, the workforce and in leadership roles. Through education, women strengthen knowledge and strategies to put in place policies, services and resources to deliver on UN Women’s mission: gender equality and the empowerment of women.

To advance our shared commitment to women’s leadership and accelerating progress towards gender equality, UN Women Australia is pleased to partner with the University of Sydney Business School to offer two fully-funded MBA Scholarships each year.

Meet our previous recipients

Our partnership with Sydney Business School has made it possible for more than 20 inspiring leaders to undertake MBA programs.

The calibre of our recipients is a true testament to the work being done by these individuals to advance gender equality and make an impact in their communities through their expertise and influence.

Chantal Mousad

“I didn’t get this scholarship because I was the smartest or most educated, but because of what I’ve achieved and want to achieve – my story and my dream. It’s not enough just to talk about gender equality. You need to advocate for women, for refugees, for Aboriginal people, and anyone who does not have equal opportunity.”

Martha Vasquez

“It’s important for women to have a voice in every area, and it’s great for me to have an impact at this level to help improve the lives of families, women and children.”

Laurena Basutu

“Structural change is often incremental. The key to success is often working with like-minded people toward a long-term outcome. Undertaking this MBA under the UN Women’s Australia scholarship will also keep me motivated to continue to pursue change.”

Natasha Jha Bhaskar

“I hope to utilise my MBA to create more ‘Diversity Champions’ that bring new perspectives and influence culture and behaviours that create equal opportunities and overcome barriers to gender equality.”
