to support and protect women and their families in the Gaza crisis.

Women and children are paying the highest price in the on-going conflict – 10,000 Palestinian women in Gaza have been killed, among them an estimated 6,000 mothers, leaving 19,000 children orphaned.

Every day the war in Gaza continues, an average of 63 women are killed.

Since 7 October 2023, more than 1.9 million people or 85 per cent of the total population of Gaza- have been displaced, including what UN Women estimates to be nearly 1 million women and girls.

The war in Gaza has left Palestinian women and girls in devastation, without access to adequate food, water, sanitation, and hygiene, impacting their mental and physical well-being and dignity.

As the war continues and the need for immediate humanitarian assistance intensifies, UN Women remains on the ground working closely with local women’s organisations and partners to secure and deliver immediate humanitarian assistance and supporting efforts to address the dire needs of women and girls.

UN Women continues to call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire and that no effort be spared to ensure women’s and girls’ protection and safe access to rapid, unimpeded, and gender-responsive humanitarian assistance.

UN Women has been supporting Palestinian women since 1997 to achieve their social, economic, and political rights. We remain present on the ground to provide support and assistance and will do so for as long as it takes.

Please donate today and support women and girls in Gaza who urgently need help.

Donations over $5 are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible in Australia.
