Brisbane IWD Lunch 2022

With the escalating weather situation unfolding in Queensland and Northern NSW, we have made the decision to move our planned International Women’s Day function Brisbane to an online virtual event.

Our duty of care is to ensure the safety of our guests and volunteers and we are of course complying with the State Government’s ’Stay at Home’ advice for the region.

This is an extremely difficult and distressing time for many and our thoughts are with those directly affected by this disaster. We are thankful as always to those on the front lines working hard to ensure the safety of others.

For over 30 years, UN Women Australia has hosted Australia’s pre-eminent International Women’s Day (IWD) fundraising events, drawing together people from diverse backgrounds to celebrate global achievements, agitate for change and raise life-changing funds to support the world’s women and girls.

In 2022 we’ll be celebrating under the International Women’s Day theme, Changing Climates: Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow – a theme that recognises the contribution of women and girls around the world, who are working to change the climate of gender equality and build a sustainable future.

Attending our official IWD events is a fantastic way to celebrate women’s achievements and show your friends, family, colleagues and community that you support the world’s largest movement for gender equality.

This IWD, we are honoured to feature an exclusive in-depth interview with internationally renowned and celebrated scientist, conservationist and human rights activist, Dr Jane Goodall. Appearing virtually, Dr Goodall will be interviewed by Linh Do, a sustainability activist and leader in her own right.
