Jackie Lee-Joe

Digital Disruptor

Jackie has over 20 years of marketing, digital disruption and transformation experience across media, tech, telco, aviation and financial services. She has enjoyed working for some truly impactful brands Netflix, BBC, Skype, Virgin, Orange and Afterpay. Like so many Antipodeans, Jackie’s perpetual sense of wanderlust has led to a myriad of global and regional roles where she’s had the pleasure of working with and learning from many teams around the world.

At Orange and Virgin, she worked on the advent of smart-phones, mobile internet and services, before moving to OTT communications with Skype.  As Global Director of Audience Marketing, Entertainment Partnerships and Broadcast Media – she was responsible for Skype’s campaign and content marketing platforms, growing the entertainment partnership program and building Skype’s capability and presence in the broadcast space.

At BBC Studios, Jackie had oversight of more than 300 brands globally, fostering franchise brands such as Doctor Who, the Planet Series, Top Gear and growing new brands such as Hey Duggee and Bluey.  Jackie was instrumental in helping to create new digital ways for communities to engage with BBC content globally in partnership with Google, Snap, Facebook, Oculus and WeChat.

At Netflix as Global Chief Marketing Officer, she brought her experience in media and entertainment together with a deep understanding of the internet and tech – building reach and fan engagement for a growing international content slate across an expanding range of genres, deepening partnerships, leading popular culture by fostering conversations around the world, and developing Netflix’s brand.

Since returning to Australia, she is an advisor and board member to some of the leaders in the entrepreneur and innovation ecosystem.  She is also currently Global Head of Customer, Content & Marketing @ Money by Afterpay, leading the product design, content and marketing teams in building a new OTT money experience focused on Gen Z and Millennials.
