The Asia Pacific Cities Summit (2023APCS) and Mayors’ Forum is set to return to Brisbane from 11 – 13 October 2023, bringing together worldwide leaders and innovative speakers to share ground-breaking ideas and unlock new opportunities for cities.
Founded in 1996, the APCS has become the signature event for those at the forefront of cities and is amongst the largest and most diverse gatherings of mayors and delegates from across the region.
Over three days, more than 1000 city leaders and urban leaders and innovators, including mayors, policymakers, business and industry leaders, leading academics, emerging businesses and young professionals from across the world will gather at the 2023APCS in Brisbane. The 2023APCS program will offer a diverse range of world-class speakers from across the region, with case studies from a range of sectors, fresh insights and world-changing ideas.
UN Women Australia CEO Simone Clarke will be joining the 2023APCS to host a session exploring what happens when women and marginalised communities are not included in the design and infrastructure of their communities, both digitally and in real life, and how inclusion contributes to the economic empowerment of women and the sustainability of our cities.
As well as ground-breaking speaker sessions, attendees can look forward to Major Project Announcement Briefings- announcement of upcoming tender projects in the region and a APCS Market Square exhibition and Meet@APCS business program. Opportunities are also available for youth aged 18-30 in the Young Professionals’ Program. Two cornerstone events of the Summit are the Mayors’ Forum and City Leaders’ Forum – exclusive opportunities for attending leaders to create their own global network of peers and learn from each other.
The Summit brings experts from business and government together to strategise and collaborate, while giving our local businesses the opportunity to create new connections and showcase their brand, services and products to a captive global audience of more than 100 cities representing half a billion people.
The 2023APCS’s overarching theme ‘Shaping Cities for the Future’ opens opportunities to create global collaborations and continue towards a sustainable outlook for the Asia Pacific and beyond. The overarching theme will be supported by sub-themes of Cities of Connection, Cities of Sustainability and Cities of Legacy.
Brisbane looks forward to welcoming more than 1,000 mayors and delegates representing over 100 cities worldwide when the 2023APCS kicks off on 11 October 2023.
As leading industry players in their respective fields, each participating organisation brings a wealth of expertise to the table, making the 2023APCS program even more valuable for attendees.
The 2023APCS will primarily take place at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in South Brisbane.
