While the fighting has paused, Gaza remains in the grip of a catastrophic, humanitarian crisis.

Over 33,000 women and girls killed. Women who have survived have been displaced, widowed, and are facing starvation. More than one million women and girls in Gaza have almost no food, no access to safe water, latrines, washrooms, or sanitary pads, with disease growing amidst inhumane living conditions.

Since October 2023, UN Women has reached almost 100,000 women and their families with food, blankets, winter clothes, hygiene products and sanitary kits.

UN Women is coordinating with UN and partners and others to ensure every clinic, and food parcel reaches women and girls safely, and meets their real needs.

Additionally, UN Women is working in close collaboration with local women-led organisations and women’s rights organisations to provide women and girls with safe, dignified, equitable and timely access to lifesaving humanitarian assistance and services.
