Safe. Everywhere. Always. 2024
Thanks to the passion and dedication of our supporters, the Safe. Everywhere. Always. campaign continued to grow in strength and impact in 2024. Building on the success of its inaugural year, the campaign inspired thousands to take action – raising awareness, sparking advocacy, and generating vital funds to help end violence against women and girls.
Recognising that engaging younger audiences is crucial to fostering early discussions on consent, respectful relationships, and the underlying causes of misogyny, we leveraged platforms that resonate with young Australians – most notably featuring on The Daily Aus podcast, Australia’s number one news podcast, which connected with younger listeners to explore critical issues such as domestic violence and the societal norms that contribute to it.
We also collaborated with major media outlets including SBS, Guardian Australia, The Australian Financial Review, and Women’s Agenda to ensure these essential conversations reached diverse communities and stayed central to the national agenda.
We amplified UN Women’s global research – including the groundbreaking Femicide report which revealed that in 2023 one woman or girl was killed every ten minutes by someone close to them –reinforcing the message that gender-based violence is not only a national emergency, but a global crisis.
Through compelling storytelling and a strong digital presence, the campaign also elevated the visibility of the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women and engaged new audiences in meaningful ways.
Through compelling storytelling and a strong digital presence, the campaign elevated the visibility of the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women. 1,289 participants from across the country and overseas, embraced the Safe. It is an absolute honour to contribute to building a better future for the incredible women and girls around the world. Us girls must stick together, have each other’s backs, especially when it comes to safety… I am doing this challenge for all the ladies I’ll never meet, who I hope can access the excellent resources the Challenge helps fund.”

Together, participants raised an incredible $266,954 in support of the UN Trust Fund, demonstrating the collective power of individuals united by a common cause.
The Safe. Everywhere. Always. 2024 campaign was also proudly supported by the Champions of Change Coalition and the Property Council of Australia. Thanks to their collaboration, buildings across the country were lit orange, turning iconic landmarks including 120 Collins Street in Melbourne, Queensland Plaza in Brisbane, and Mandurah Forum in Western Australia into powerful symbols of hope and solidarity.
Together, we’re creating a future where all women and girls are Safe. Everywhere. Always.
