Trek for Rights 2023
Our Trek for Rights 2023 trips saw 24 incredible UN Women Australia supporters hike the ancient, ochre-red landscapes of Ikara–Flinders Ranges. Guided by experts, they explored rugged mountains ranges, towering cliffs, and spectacular gorges – hiking sections of the famous Heysen Trail and visiting renowned landmarks such as Wilpena Pound, Mount Remarkable National Park, Brachina Gorge and Alligator Gorge.
Together, these dedicated trekkers raised an amazing $24,231 to support women and girls in Afghanistan, who have suffered a dramatic reversal of rights following the Taliban takeover. Thanks to their efforts and the generosity of donors, these funds will support UN Women’s crucial work in Afghanistan, ensuring women and girls are not left behind in humanitarian efforts.
