  • We will deliver an exciting lineup of keynote speakers and panellists, led by a well known and MC
  • Our keynote speaker will provide an address to set the tone for lively and meaningful discussion.  Our keynote will be someone dedicated to empowering women and girls in the Asia-Pacific region. This may include a UN Women representative from  Asia Pacific or the leader of a gender equality initiative in the region.
  • Your meal will be served shortly after the keynote speaker and you will have the opportunity to network during a short programming break
  • Following the main meal service, we will have industry leaders and changemakers in a panel to discuss the important roles we all have to play in creating a world where everybody can live a life free from violence, discrimination and full of opportunity. Generation Equality is a call to take a stand in unison for gender equality.

The event duration is anticipated to be no more than 2 hours

You can proceed to your table upon arrival, no registration is required on the day of the event. If you are unsure about your table number, please refer to the seating lists available on pin boards at the door. Our friendly volunteers will be on hand to provide assistance and direct you to your table.

Dress code is smart casual for the event.

Early bird discount sales end on 31 January (11.59pm), with standard prices available from 1 February. Ticket sales will close approximately 2 weeks prior to the events (Friday 14 February), unless sold out prior.

The preferred way to purchase tickets and to secure a table is to book online with a credit card, which guarantees your ticket/table selection immediately. We strongly encourage due to the popularity of the event as tables sell out quickly. Please click here to book online.

We have updated our booking system this year and only credit card payments are accepted. Should you wish to pay via EFT and require an invoice, we are able to arrange this separately for you. Please note that payment terms for the invoice are strictly 7 days. The invoice does not confirm your table until payment has been made. If payment is not received within the 7 day terms, the table may be returned for sale and the invoice cancelled.

We suggest you contact our event contractor Event Head (our event management company) so they can assist you with an invoice, at [email protected] or 0434 608 433

Globally, UN Women will mark IWD with the theme Generation Equality. Generation Equality is a call to action to join forces across generations, to create a new vision where every girl and woman everywhere has equal opportunities to lead, to learn, to earn a decent living and to live lives free from violence and discrimination.

There is no better facilitator for equality than education. However, we know that:

  • During conflict, girls are 2.5 times more likely than boys to drop out of school.
  • Today, two thirds of the world’s illiterate adults are women. This trend has not changed in 20 years.
  • 48% of girls who are out-of-school today are unlikely to ever enrol in school

Despite the scale of the global education challenge faced by marginalised women, young women and girls, there has not yet existed a proven approach to enabling successful second chance education at scale and leaving no one behind. Until now.

UN Women with local partners worldwide is reimagining education – beyond the conventional classroom – to technology-enabled education, training as a pathway to financial independence and prosperity for the world’s women and girls.

This International Women’s Day, funds raised will support learning and earning pathways for women and girls, recognising that with an education, anything is possible, for this generation, and for generations to come.

Previous IWD Breakfast attendees have enjoyed the engaging presentations from international and national experts working to accelerate progress towards gender equality. In 2020, an eminent panel will be convened to speak to the theme ‘Generation Equality’.

Our panel will discuss the important roles we all have to play in creating a world where everybody can live a life free from violence, discrimination and full of opportunity. Generation Equality is a call to take a stand in unison for gender equality.
