Janice Petersen – Journalist and SBS World News Presenter
Janice Petersen has spent more than 15 years working as a cross platform journalist and news presenter, and currently presents SBS World News at 6.30pm from Sunday to Thursday.
Janice brings to SBS a strong background in journalism after many years at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation where she reported on and covered breaking news events right across Australia.
In her current role, she regularly interviews leading news makers from world leaders to celebrities and has contributed live reports and updates on major national and international news stories. Janice has also lent her presenting skills to landmark SBS programs including forum series Insight and Go Back To Where You Came From Live.
The stylish mother of two has been included in lists of influential people, including Media Week’s Top 25 Media People 2017, Harper’s Bazaar’s “Fabulous at Every Age” feature and “Who’s Who” biological reference of notable Australians.
Janice has also hosted numerous high profile events, including the Australia Day Lunch, the Australian Open Inspirational Series with Anna Wintour and Vogue Codes.
Laura Murphy-Oates – Reporter/Presenter for The Feed on SBS VICELAND
Laura Murphy-Oates is a 27 yr old Ngiyampaa Weilwan woman from NSW and a reporter/presenter for The Feed on SBS VICELAND. Her reporting on Indigenous affairs over the past 6 years has won her multiple awards, including 2018 Walkley’s Young Journalist of the year.
Karla Grant – Presenter, Journalist and Executive Producer of Current Affairs at National Indigenous Television (NITV) – SBS
Karla Grant is a proud woman of the Western Arrernte nation in Central Australia. She is currently a Presenter, Journalist and Executive Producer of Current Affairs at National Indigenous Television (NITV). Karla has over 25 years of media experience working as a journalist, producer, director and presenter, and this year marks her 23rd year at SBS.
For 16 years she’s been the Host and Executive Producer of Australia’s award-winning and longest running Indigenous current affairs show “Living Black” on NITV & SBS. Karla is committed to giving her people a platform for highlighting their issues and educating and informing all Australians on the plight of Indigenous Australian’s.
Lucy Zelic – SBS Television Chief Football Host & World News Sports Presenter

A passionate football journalist and lifelong sports fan, Lucy Zelic has been a key member of SBS’s football coverage team since 2013.
Lucy currently hosts SBS’s flagship football news program The World Game (Mondays, 11pm), appears as a sports presenter on SBS World News, writes for The World Game online and presents SBS’s coverage of local and international football including the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, and more.
In 2014, Lucy hosted the 2014 FIFA World Cup matches from the Sydney studios. The 2014 FIFA World Cup was Lucy’s first World Cup for SBS. In 2015 she hosted the Australian matches and the finals for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Prior to joining SBS Lucy was well known amongst football fans from her work on the official podcast of the Hyundai A-League, which she hosted for the 2012-13 season. A seasoned radio host and presenter, Lucy was the commentator for all Canberra United home games in the Westfield W-League on 2XXFM and was a regular guest on the popular Balls n’ All show on 106.3FM. She has also hosted the nationally streamed football podcast Nearpost and holds a Bachelor in Journalism and Sports Business from the University of Canberra.
